In honor of one of our favorite Americanized holidays, we’ve compiled a list of our 7 favorite tequilas that say, “welcome home.”
818
The latest brainchild to come out of the Kardashian/Jenner family, 818 tequila was announced in mid-February as Kendall Jenner’s latest business venture. Though it’s new, we have high hopes for this tequila…especially since it apparently took almost 4 years to make it. According to 818’s Instagram, the tequila is available in California, which is fitting since it was named after the Calabasas zip code. 818 is scheduled to be available nationwide by summer 2021.
Avión
This award-winning tequila started in the small town of Jesus Maria, Mexico. Grown at some of the highest elevations in Mexico for 7-10 years, Avión takes extreme pride in its blue agave plant. This also explains why the Avión brand is centered around elevation. If you’re looking to raise the roof on a housewarming party, this may be the tequila for you.
Patrón
A cult classic and always a good time, Patrón is sure to be a fantastic housewarming gift. One of the most trusted tequila brands, Patrón is recognized not only for its continued excellence but also for its carefully crafted recipe. Don’t believe us? They’re in no rush to achieve their excellence. Their oldest tequila, Extra Añejo 10 Años takes 10 years before it’s ready to consume. Now that’s something worth the wait.
Casamigos
Smooth and suave. No, it’s not Danny Ocean, it’s his tequila. The world swooned when George Clooney announced he’d be creating a tequila, and the end product did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a tequila that is sure to impress, Casamigos is an excellent choice.
Espolón
Not a fan of celebrity-endorsed tequila’s? No problem. Espolón is an artistic tequila that anyone can enjoy. Crafted by dreamer and Master Distiller, Cirilo Oropeza, Espolón is perfect for your friends who are living their dreams in their new home.
Herradura
Celebrating 150 years, Herradura tequila is produced in the last tequila-producing Hacienda on the planet. The brand, born in 1870, is located in the heart of Mexico’s tequila region, setting the tequila standards high. If you’re looking for a tequila that sparks a little historical conversation, look no further than Herradura.
Teremana
“With drive and a bit of talent you can move mountains.” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s tequila, Teremana may not grant you the strength to physically move a mountain, but it is born in the highlands of Jalisco. This small-batch tequila combines hard work and sustainability. In fact, it’s even named after it. The name of the tequila combines two words, tere & mana. ‘Tere’ derived from the Latin ‘terra’ meaning earth and ‘Mana’, the Polynesian word meaning spirit – Teremana is the “Spirit of the Earth”.
Whatever tequila you end up bringing to your next housewarming party, we encourage you to please enjoy it and most importantly, to enjoy it responsibly.
